About
What is EzyCite?
EzyCite is a free, personal research tool that helps you find, map, and cite academic papers — faster than any traditional literature search.
Search 250M+ papers
EzyCite is powered by OpenAlex — the world's largest open scholarly database with over 250 million works across every discipline. Search by topic, title, author, or paste a DOI directly.
Citation network graph
Save papers to your library and EzyCite automatically builds an interactive citation graph — a visual map showing how your papers reference each other. Node size reflects influence score calculated using PageRank. The bigger the node, the more central that paper is to your research area.
Semantic search
Don't know the exact title? Switch to semantic mode and describe the concept in plain English. EzyCite expands your query using AI to find papers by meaning — not just keyword matching. Great for exploring unfamiliar fields.
Export & import references
Export your saved papers in APA, MLA, Chicago, BibTeX, or RIS format — ready to paste into Word, LaTeX, Zotero, or Mendeley. Already have a .bib file? Import it directly and EzyCite will look up each paper and add it to your library.
Cite while you write in Google Docs
The EzyCite add-on for Google Docs brings your library into your document. Place your cursor, click Cite, and insert in-text citations in APA, MLA, Chicago, IEEE, or BibTeX. The bibliography stays in sync automatically as you add or remove citations — just like Zotero or Mendeley, but free. Connect it with an API token from Settings.
Free, with sync across devices
Sign in with Google and your library follows you everywhere — the website, the citation graph, and the Google Docs add-on all share the same saved papers. No paywall, no premium tier.
Data source
All scholarly metadata is provided by OpenAlex, an open and free index of the global research system. OpenAlex data is made available under the CC0 license. EzyCite does not own or host any paper content — we provide search and discovery tools over this open dataset.
